Harmony with Mother EarthSome call her "Sister" or "Planet Earth," others refer to her as "Environment" or simply "our home." She is all we have, our common home. Mother Earth sustains us and produces various fruit. This fruit can be in any form, being minerals, beautiful landscape, fish, edible fruit, or herbs for our health.
It is time now to live in harmony with Earth. She cries out to all of us because we plunder her at will. We have inflicted harm, and we abuse her goods, all the fruit that she provides to our benefit. We need to wake up and recognize the symptoms of sickness in the soil, the water, the air, and all forms of life, including our human bodies. Still, we need to see Earth as our home that we must preserve. We are meant to exist with her in harmony and keep her healthy so that we, ourselves, can stay healthy, too. Human life is a gift, and environmental deterioration will have its toll on this gift. Eventually, we all are just 'dust of the earth.' Our biological molecules are made up of nature's elements. We receive life from Earth' waters. We breathe her air. We find food and nourishment in her lands & forests, and we find peace of mind and inspirations on top of her mountains. Every effort to protect, conserve, and improve our world and our health involves profound adjustments in lifestyles, models of consumptions, farming, and production. The book of nature includes the environment, ecosystems, life, growth, health, and us: humankind. For good health, we need a Mother Earth in good shape. |
